Inclement Weather Policy

Since our morning service is broadcast live, our church will make every effort to meet for Sunday morning worship, regardless of weather conditions. In extreme circumstances, however, it may be impossible to meet. In such cases, a recording of a previous service may be broadcast instead.

Because of icy conditions on the church steps, church ramp, overpass, and underpass, the pastor and deacon chairperson, in consultation with the staff, may choose to cancel Sunday School, Sunday evening worship, Wednesday evening worship, or other events. Generally, when Corbin Independent School classes are canceled on the following day due to inclement weather, the church will also choose to cancel its evening activities.

Changes from the usual schedule will be made by 7:30 a.m. for morning events and by noon for afternoon and evening events. Any decision to alter the usual Sunday or Wednesday schedule will be announced through local media outlets (including 27 Newsfirst). A message telling of the cancellation will also be placed on the church’s answering machine and website.
